POSITION: Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION and QUALIFICATIONS:
Research and Engineering Development, LLC is seeking a full-time Accountant. Desired candidates should possess a degree in accounting with 2-3 years of accounting experience in government contracting and be comfortable with the following: Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Month End Close.
Responsibilities:
- Process Timesheets, review and post labor distribution and submit payroll. Responsible for reconciliation of all payroll accounts including benefits and payroll taxes.
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
- Manage accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to financial guidelines.
- Assist with Audits as required.
- Assist Accounting Manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Assist with other accounting projects including incurred cost submissions.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years or equivalent experience in accounting
- Exceptional organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Understanding accounting and financial reporting principles and practices to include working knowledge of cost-plus contracts.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software
- Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and T&E, WAWF and Cognos preferred.
